Introduction
Completing the end-of-shift tasks for the Press workstation is crucial to ensuring the workstation is clean, safe, and ready for the next shift. As you work through this checklist, make sure to tick off each task once itโs completed and sign off on the checklist. You can access the End of Shift Checklist document here. Any issues encountered during these tasks should be reported immediately to your supervisor and/or the maintenance team.
Turn Off Glue

- Task: Empty the glue round and press “Start Stop” to turn off the glue system.
- Description: Ensure the glue system is fully emptied and deactivated to prevent glue from hardening inside the system.
Scrape Glue Off Applicator & Spray Glue Release
- Task: Scrape off any remaining glue from the applicator and apply glue release spray.
- Description: Thoroughly clean the applicator to remove any residual glue, and spray it with glue release to prevent buildup.
Put Applicator Cover On and Tighten
- Task: Place the cover back on the applicator and tighten it securely.
- Description: Ensure the applicator is properly covered and secured to protect it from dust and debris.
Turn Off the UV Light
- Task: Shut down the UV light.
- Description: Turn off the UV light to conserve energy and prevent unnecessary exposure.
Scrape Press Infeed & Spray with Glue Release
- Task: Scrape the 01A rollers clean and apply glue release spray.
- Description: Remove any glue residue from the rollers and apply glue release to keep them in good condition.
Remove Glue Tray and Add Sawdust
- Task: Take out the glue tray and mix sawdust with the glue
- Description: Remove Glue Catch Bin and activate with sawdust from the Glue Bench. leave overnight to set.
Assist in Cleaning FJ Press Area
- Task: Remove any remaining timber, scrape down, and spray the rollers in the Finger Joiner area.
- Description: Ensure the Finger Joiner area is clean and free from timber or glue buildup. Spray the rollers with glue release.
Restock and Store Cleaning Equipment
- Task: Ensure all cleaning equipment is full and stored correctly for the next use.
- Description: Check that all cleaning supplies are replenished and stored in their designated areas.
Complete Paperwork and Complete MBU Board
- Task: Fill out the necessary paperwork and update the MBU board with the day’s data.
- Description: Document all relevant information and ensure it is correctly entered on the MBU board.
Assist in Cleanup of Dance Floor/HSP Area
- Task: Help clean up the Dance Floor and High-Speed Planer (HSP) area.
- Description: Work with the team to ensure these areas are also clean and ready for the next shift.
Report Maintenance Issues
- Task: Report any maintenance needs or wear and tear noticed within the area.
- Description: Document any issues or potential problems and notify the maintenance team or your supervisor.

Ensure that each task is completed thoroughly, ticked off on the checklist, and signed off once done. If any issues arise, report them immediately to your supervisor or the maintenance team before leaving the workstation. You can access and complete the End of Shift Checklist document here.
